Meet Sarah

Physiotherapist

Sarah is a physiotherapist with over 7 years of clinical experience. Early on in her career, Sarah developed a passion for working with clients with neurological conditions, particularly stroke, spinal cord injury and neuromuscular disease. With clinical experience in critical care and high dependency settings, Sarah has skills and knowledge that enables her to work with clients with complex care needs, including those with neuro-respiratory conditions, e.g. long-term ventilator or tracheostomy clients, airway clearance management including suctioning or use of assistive devices (e.g. cough assist machine).

Sarah prides herself on building connections that enable clients to reach their full potential and empower them in their health journey. She understands that restoring function and regaining independence looks different for everyone and this diversity is what keeps her passionate and motivated. She prides herself on giving clear, concise and most importantly, achievable exercise programs/management plans.These programs are driven by client and family/care giver goals that empower individuals to take ownership of their health journey.

 

Alongside Restore Neuro Rehab, Sarah is a passionate First Nations Health advocate. As a proud Biripi and Worimi woman, Sarah has been working to promote culturally safe spaces and practices in healthcare settings. This work is achieved through her part time role with the University of Melbourne and extra-curriculars including her role as vice chair on the APA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Committee.

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) – First Class Honours. University of Sydney

  • Graduate Certificate in Public Health - University of New South Wales
